Last week, seven European Higher Education Insititutes - HAN University of Applied Sciences (the Netherlands), IMC Krems (Austria), Fachhochschule Münster (Germany), Vasile Alecsandri University of Bac?u (Romania), University of Vic- Central University of Catalonia (Spain), Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Finland) and Artevelde University of Applied Sciences (Belgium) - met in Ghent, Belgium for a two-day programme of networking and planning, hosted by Artevelde UAS.
These seven partners are united by the ambition to establish ties between European ecosystems by establishing a strong, European-level strategic partnership for educational and research collaboration. To realize these ambitions, the partners spent months jointly preparing a project for the European University Initiative and are now awaiting feedback on the resulting proposal, entitled "UP University - Shaping the New World of Work, Study & Living". During last week's first live, in person meeting between the consortium's seven presidents and their project teams, it became clear that, even before the results are in, the consortium already exists, and not only on paper: the partnership is alive and kicking, and all members are committed to this collaboration and dedicated to strengthening each other's institutions.
